Suicide awareness week

Whatcom’s Programming and Diversity Board will hold a series of events from April 22 to
April 26 to raise awareness for the issue of suicide. These events will include a documentary
showing and a panel discussion, as well as a poetry exhibition. For more details contact the
office of student life Syre 208.

Squares for Strength

As part of suicide Awareness Week, The Programming and Diversity Board will be creating
a memorial quilt for those who have lost someone to suicide or who may be going through
difficult times on Thurs. April 25 outside Syre Auditorium from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Students will have the opportunity to sign squares of fabric which will be quilted together.

Travelogue Series

The World Languages Department will be presenting a series of travel presentations throughout
spring quarter. The travelogues will be presented by Whatcom faculty and range from stories
of teaching in China to hiking in Northern England.

45th Anniversary Celebration

Whatcom Community College will celebrate its 45th anniversary Fri. May 3 with a special
edition of the Chuckanut Radio Hour. Admission is $50 and includes food and drink. Proceeds
from the event will benefit student shcolarships and the “I am Whatcom” fund. Tickets can
