Orca Sports Update 11/11

Men’s soccer took on the Clark Penguins in the first round of the NWAC Championships on Wednesday. The Penguins jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 13th minute, but the Orcas would answer back with three unanswered goals and go on to win 3-1.

Continuing their run on Saturday, the Orcas traveled to face the Columbia Basin Hawks in the NWAC quarterfinals. It was scoreless most of the first half until the Hawks broke the scoring open with a goal in the 41st minute. The Orcas would remain scoreless as they went on to lose 4-0 to bring their season to an end.

Orca Volleyball played their final game of the regular season as they took on the Bellevue Bulldogs needing a win for a chance at the postseason. The Orcas would drop the first set but would respond by taking the next two sets. The match would take all 5 sets to decide a winner but, in the end, the Bulldogs won the 5th set 15-10 to end the Orca’s season. They end the season with a record of 17-8 overall and a conference record of 6-6.

Men’s basketball will kick off their season by traveling to face the Highline Highlanders on Nov. 22 and Women’s basketball will open their season by taking on the Blue Mountain Timberwolves on Nov. 18.
