On Monday, March 12, 2012, a man suspected of several on-campus car prowls was arrested on charges of car prowl in the second degree.

Anatoliy Dutov, 22, was arrested without incident when officers responded to a call of a car prowler in the Laidlaw-Pavilion parking lot.

A witness made eye contact with the suspect, who was checking door handles on parked cars, and blocked the suspect in with his car. The suspect got out of the car and walked into Kulshan Hall where he was arrested, said Mark Young, public information officer with the Bellingham Police Department.

The suspect was booked into Whatcom County Jail the same day.
