Chuckanut Writers Conference

If you are a student with a love for writing, you are in luck. On June 24 and 25, several local authors, such as Jim Lynch, Tom Robbins, Gloria Burgess, and more will be visiting Whatcom’s campus. Whatcom students fee is $135, and for that price you can attend workshops, and have a chance to get your writing pieces submitted for possible publication. The regular price for the workshop is $245, but if you sign up as a student you get a major discount. Reggaeton Dance class coming to Whatcom

On Wednesday, June 8, the Spanish Club is sponsoring a free reggaeton dance class taught by Rumba Northwest. It will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Syre Auditorium. All are welcome to attend, no experience is necessary.

Orca Day 2011

On Wednesday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Whatcom’s annual Orca Day will take place in the Syre courtyard. There will be live music, free food, and new this year will be clubs organizing booths and having competitions and giving awards.
